Problem With Schools

In this editorial cartoon by Gary Varvel it shows how schools are only caring about their sports, extracurricular activities, and are not giving the education that kids need. This is a very good argument because this is a huge deal that people need to look at. Kids are not getting the right education they need in high school and not getting the help they need either so more and more are failing. This editorial cartoon is believable because it states a good argument and the argument is something that is really occurring now days in schools. The author proves her point by showing the emotions of the cartoon characters. Also by stating the fact that principle is only caring about the sport facilities they have at the school, than caring about the parent’s child who is failing. The strategy the author uses in this cartoon is using a black and white sketchy look with great artistic skill and technique. He uses good strategy in showing emotions on the characters faces which explains how they are feeling about the discussion they are having. The author uses a creative font that fits well to the topic of the argument and it’s a young stylish. He uses a good strategy by using parents and a principle to display this type or argument because it wouldn’t have made a good argument or got the point of the argument if children or teenagers would be in the ones talking to the principle in his office. Overall this is a good argument that was displayed very well with good skills and strategies.
