Jacquielynn Floyd argues about how Facebook is becoming over
filled with people’s personal life. She
thinks that people need to refrain from posting private things about themselves
on the internet stated in her article “On Facebook, Biggest Threat to Your
Private Data May Be You.” I totally agree with her on this topic in the fact
that we both believe that people don’t need to inform everyone on what they do
every second of the day and if it’s their personal information. Yes we know
that people like to notify their friends with what they are doing and how they
are but don’t let the whole world know especially the people that you don’t
trust or know. In this argument, there are two main topics that are looked at
in this article: It isn’t really necessary to inform everyone about their
personal life and will people “lose the ability to distinguish between our
public and private lives.” In the topic informing people about their personal
life they should understand that not everyone wants to know everything about
them and it’s dangerous to be putting private info on the internet where anyone
could ask to be your friend and see what you have to say. Be wise with who you
pick your friends to be and if you trust them. In the topic public and private
lives equaling each other this is a major worry that people should be
realizing. Do you trust the people you are friends with? Do you enjoy hearing
about their personal lives? “How can we expect somebody we don’t know to
safeguard our privacy if we think so little of it ourselves? As you can see
private life’s isn’t being kept private it is changing to be public where
everyone can see and know about. Facebook can be a good thing but until people
start respecting themselves, it’s going to have a negative effect stated Floyd.
