Married Young

Is getting married young a good idea? I think young adults should wait at least till there 23 or 24 to get married. So many kids now days are getting engaged while they are still in high school or as soon as they graduate. I don’t think they realize how difficult that will be trying to raise money for a house, car, ect. while they are still trying to pay for schooling as well. My parents were 19 when they got married and had me; they said it was very hard financial wise being so young and trying to live on their own and having started a family. My mom started college and only made it one semester because it was too hard to balance school and try to have a full time job to help pay off some of the payments they had. My dad never made it to college either because he had to have a full time job as well to help support his family. He didn’t end up later go back to school a get his degree in electrical when they were more financially supported. Now that I’m getting older and I’m at the age that they got married; they are always tell me to finish out with school and make some money while working and then get married after because now days everything is so expensive. If you have a degree in something and you have a stable full time job, it will help you so much more to get married then, then get married real young.  There is not a huge rush to getting married fast and when you’re young. The person that is the right one for you will understand and think a good idea to wait until both of you are stable in life.

  1. 23/24 is too young, too! ;)
Great use of personal experience to support your argument.
