According to the satirical cartoon “The Boondocks” by Aaron
McGruder , he stats a very good argument on video games. He argues that if
people are so worried about kids and violence with the video games and kids
using guns, why don’t they go to the gun manufacturers and gun dealers instead
of the people who make the video games and complain about it to them? (pg. 298)
This is a very believable article because it is true, parents do complain about
the video games and how they are going to introduce violence to kids and may
cause the kids to use guns. The article is believable because someone could be
having a conversation on this topic at anytime and it probably has been a major
topic for people. How its believable is Aaron uses young teenagers to announce the
argument which probably would be true in most cases on who would be discussing
this topic.
In this article the author does a great job of proving her point by
giving good evidence and reasoning to the arguable topic by stating that, “Who
would you rather start beef with—some nerd who makes video games or some dude
with a warehouse full of Ak-47s.” (pg. 298)This reasoning makes total sense and
is very believable because why would anyone want to mess with people who have a
warehouse full of guns?
The strategies the author uses in this argument is
putting it into a cartoon to make it more interesting and making it visual for
people, so it’s easier and more exciting to read. It does work better I think
if it’s in a cartoon because it’s short and sweet. People aren’t going to want
to read a 3 page essay on this topic because it would get boring very quickly.
The author did a great job on using teenagers as the main characters in the argument
cartoon because this topic is aimed toward teenagers. Overall the author did a good
job with his strategies because it did a good job on grabbing my attention, that’s
why I picked to read it.

Great work, and I love your image. Think about some of the artistic choices the author made. Color? Spacing? Fonts? How do these impact the argument?
